1、 Ozone:

Because ozone can break the rubber molecular chain, but the effect of ozone on rubber O-ring will be different depending on whether or not the O-ring is deformed. If the O-ring is denatured, cracking will occur. If there is no deformation, an oxide film will be formed on the surface.


2、 Oxygen:

Oxygen reacts with the rubber molecules in rubber O-ring, which changes the properties of rubber itself and leads to the aging of O-ring.


3、 Heat:

it is found that rubber is easy to appear at high temperature, but the effect of thermal cross-linking on rubber is basically active without overheating. It will increase the diffusion rate of oxygen, thus aging the O-ring.


4、 Light:

or rubber O-ring, the influence of light on it is the length of light wave, especially the ultraviolet ray of sunlight, which is very harmful to rubber. After absorbing ultraviolet ray, the rubber will have cracks on the surface of the product due to the acceleration of oxidation chain reaction.


5、 Moisture content:

If rubber O-ring is immersed in water or exposed to rain for a long time, it is easy to absorb or hydrolyze the water-soluble substances and hydrophilic groups in the home, which will cause the rubber performance to be damaged.


In addition, chemical media, grease, radiation, mechanical stress and so on can also shorten the service life of rubber O-ring.
